Jon S. Strauss
On Wednesday, March 25th, 2020, Jon Strauss, loving husband, brother-in-law, uncle and cousin, passed away at the young age of 75.
Jon was born in 1945 in Los Angeles, CA to Emil and Irene Strauss. He graduated from San Gabriel High School in 1963 and received a degree in accounting from USC in 1967. He was a member of the AICPA and practiced Certified Public Accounting in Southern California for almost 50 years. His career began at Deloitte & Touche and then moved into private practice. Jon was a life-long fan of the L.A. Dodgers, L.A. Lakers and the USC Trojans. He was an avid traveler who had spent a great deal of time in Europe during the late 60's and early 70's. His bucket list included spending time in all 50 states. He came close, falling short by 15 states. He enjoyed dining at fine restaurants and loved his collection of wine. Most of all Jon enjoyed countless holidays, celebrations, trips and festive gatherings with his family and friends who meant everything to him.
He had a great sense of humor and could always make those around him laugh.
His heart was so large (both literally and figuratively) and he was always generous with his time and money. He was so proud of his niece and nephew, and was their doting Uncle always taking great pride in their achievements and loved imparting life lessons to them.
Jon was preceded in death by his father, Emil, his mother, Irene, his mother/
father-in-law, Alan and Margaret Stewart and his brother-in-law John Stewart.
He is survived by his wife, Catherine, his sister-in-law, Elizabeth (Stewart) Johnson,
