Clorinda Sylvia Santangelo

Clorinda Santangelo, a 35-year resident of Southern California, passed away on Thursday February 4, 2021 in Los Angeles, California. Born in New York, Clorinda was 88 when she died.
Clorinda graduated from Hunter College, a constituent of the City
University of New York, with a degree in Psychology and Education.
While still in college, she met Frank (formally Francis) Santangelo
and married him in April 1955. Both before and after the birth of their daughter, Clorinda taught elementary students in two states. When in the Chicago area, Clorinda retired from teaching and worked in purchasing for Westpoint Pepperell and Martin Brower.
Frank and Clorinda moved to Redondo Beach to be near their married daughter and first
grandson. Soon after their second grandson was born, Clorinda and Frank retired for good and devoted time and energy to their family, their Church and their friends. Clorinda was known for
her style and talents in the kitchen.
Clorinda is survived by daughter Donna Mae Ellis, son-in-law Tom, grandsons Matt and Kevin, cousins, nieces, nephews, other family and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother and other family.
A gathering of family and friends will be held prior to the 10:00 am Funeral Mass on Thursday March 4, 2021 at American Martyrs Catholic Church, Manhattan Beach. Burial will be private at a future date at Holy Cross Cemetery in Culver City, CA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a food bank, the Alzheimer's Association ( or a charity of your choice.
