Megan Carney Andrews
August 31, 1981-December 5, 2020
Megan passed away peacefully at the age of 39 on December 5, 2020, surrounded by love from her husband Joe, her sons Jude (12) and Josiah (11), her brother Zack, and her parents Judy and Tom. This beautiful woman will be greatly missed and remembered by her entire family, her many friends, and all the people whose lives she touched. Megan's strength, determination, and positive attitude to live each day to the fullest while fighting her breast and rare form of brain cancer for almost 2 years served as an inspiration and example to all who knew her and many who just followed her story.
Megan was raised in Manhattan Beach attending Pacific School and Mira Costa High School where she enjoyed and excelled at Girls Water Polo. She grew up enjoying the ocean and all it has to offer, as well as skiing and snowboarding in Mammoth. She studied Cinema-Television at USC before she married and moved to Bakersfield where she became a mother. As a family, she moved to Buckeye, Arizona and became a part of her new community. Through her church she established a ministry, Broken into Beautiful, where she remade donated jewelry to be given to battered women upon entering a women's shelter. Megan was involved in Education First, a high school foreign exchange program. For 3 years she acted as a surrogate mother to foreign students who became part of her family for a school year. Megan loved music, attending music festivals, dancing, watching movies, spending time with friends, making crafts, planning parties, reaching out to those in need, but most of all she loved being with her family and her boys.
Megan's family is so grateful for all the generosity, support, kindness,
concern, and love throughout her battle. You can read her story at www.smilealwaysmovement.com.
