Susan Clarkson of Old Greenwich, Connecticut passed away on February 12, 2020 in St. Augustine, Florida.

The funeral service will be held at Christ Episcopal Church in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida.

Susan was born in Mineola, New York to Laurence and Bernice Sherwood on December 28, 1948. She attended high school at Greenwich High School in Connecticut. Susan graduated from Wells College in 1970 and received a graduate degree from Syracuse University in 1971. She worked in sales for Xerox and Digital Equipment in the Bay Area during the 1980s. Most significantly, Susan was the lifeforce and glue for her family.

She showered her spouse and children with abundant love – whether or not they made it easy. And she never hesitated to share her warmth with friends. Her love and devotion were a blessing to all she encountered.

Susan is preceded in death by her father Laurence Sherwood and mother Bernice Sherwood. Susan is survived by her husband Ted, her son Tyler, her daughter Cami, her daughter-in-law Kristin, and her sister Carolyn Flemming.

In lieu of flowers, the Clarksons kindly request donations in Susan's honor be made to the National Psoriasis Foundation.

Sue's smile lit up the world. She was a friend for almost 60 years!! We did not see each other often, but each time was so special. I have memories of junior high and high in Greenwich but some that were just our shared memories. For example, I remember our amazing 'weekend away' when we went to John Galloway's installation. I remember both living in New York for a short period of time....and Richard and I meeting you at the restaurant with the airplane. I remember when you gave our first born, Britton, the Native American quilt and we have treasured it and used it for 5 children and 7 visiting grandchildren. I never got to see your children grow up since we raised ours in Australia but loved hearing about their journeys and yours and Ted's. I do treasure our more recent reunions since our return to the USA at various spots in Maryland and at our 45th high school reunion. Always very special, special times. Always went away from meetings with you feeling more whole and positive after a few hours sharing thoughts and experiences punctuated with laughter. We miss you and will treasure our shared experiences always. Gay and Richard Ward
