Rose Claire Emery, (affectionately known as Mickey since she received the nickname from her father as a little girl), passed away on Sunday 15 November 2020 at the age of 83. Mickey moved to Southern California in 1956 at the age of 19 from her hometown of Makeesport, PA. She was the daughter of Robert and Rose Claire Emery, and was part of a long line of Rose Claire's that also included Mickey's daughter Claire, who passed away suddenly in 2013.
Mickey worked at TRW in the 1970's, but spent the majority of her working career as a real estate agent in support of her son-in-laws real estate business in Manhattan Beach. There, Mickey spent 30 years in devoted service, helping literally hundreds of families in the South Bay.
Indeed, Mickey touched many people in her life, as she had an uncanny knack for having people open up to her with their life story. It was probably because she was such a good listener. To our family, Mickey always found a way to have everyone's individual backs simultaneously, even when we were at odds with one another. She was the matriarch of the family without being heavy handed or overbearing.
Having won her bout with stage four breast cancer several years ago, Mickey was thriving, but sadly, metastatic cancer claimed her after a very short time following her diagnosis, and Mickey succumbed to her illness while at her daughters home, surrounded by family.
Mickey survived 3 siblings, and is survived by her other daughter, Danielle, her grandchildren, Ashun, Taylor, Liam and Bellah, and her great grandchildren, Mason, Beckett and Boden. We will all miss you terribly every day, but are brightened by the thought that you are with Claire again, looking over us all as angels on high, as we hold each or you tight in our hearts forevermore.
