Douglas Winton Smith Obituary
Douglas Winton Smith passed away on June 26th at the age of 75. He was a native son of California and a 50 year resident of Manhattan Beach. Outstanding in track and field in high school and college, he went on to coach and teach in the Los Angeles School District. He enjoyed all sports, loved to ski and body surf. He traveled all over the world, and made lifelong friends with those he met along the way. Doug was quick to smile and had many friends throughout his lifetime of adventures. During the last few months of his life he had a half dozen friends at his home daily. One friend commented that his phones seemed to ring more often than Donald Trump's probably did.

His family would like to thank all of these friends that gave him such wonderful support during the last months of his life. He leaves behind his brother and family, Grant and Lynn Smith, and nephew Greg Smith, all of Manhattan Beach; and his brother and family, Blair Smith and Sally Reinburg of Hermosa Beach.

In lieu of flowers the family would welcome a donation in Doug's memory to:
Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PanCAN)
