Born on July 24, 1943, our sweet lady died on January 6, 2020 from complications of Alzheimer's disease. A woman of sharp wit, silliness, extraordinary creativity, beauty and thoughtfulness, we will miss her every day of our lives. Preceded in death by her son, John, she leaves behind Joe, her husband of 61 years, her daughter Laura and sons Joe, Brian and Rob, daughters-in-law Susan, Amy and Amanda, and nine grandchildren Joe, Charlie, Alice, John, Lilliana, Noah, Sally-Ann, Lenny and Robbie, and sisters Roberta Quigley and Nancy Hesketh.
Born and raised in Hermosa Beach, she and Joe fell instantly in love during the summer of 1958 and continued their courtship while she completed Mira Costa High School and San Diego State University. Married in 1964, she lived most of the rest of her life in Manhattan Beach where she raised her children as an active participant in their many activities.
Dotsie was also known as the lady with the beautiful garden and extraordinary quilt maker. Always there for family and friends, she was a fearless protector who was ready to help in any way and to provide comfort and love to those in need. We loved her so much. We miss her so much.
On March 7 we will gather to remember and honor Dorothy. Please visit EventCreate.com
