Donald "Don" H. Deford, 83 died Monday, October 12 in Palm Desert, CA. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Connie Deford, his sister Clarise Mannon, his daughter Tina Zarro and husband Mike, his son Don Deford and wife Janice, his grandchildren Stephanie, Joseph, Matthew, Jennifer and Donald, and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother William Deford and sister Rebecca Jenkins.

Born in December 8, 1937 to Sibble and Lewis Deford in Lawndale, California, Don went to Leuzinger High School and was a carpenter, contractor and business-owner. He and Connie founded Deford's Builders Supply in 1971 and Deford's Fireplaces in 1977 in Lawndale, where they worked together as owner-operators until retirement.

Hard -working and independent. Don lived life to its fullest.

He enjoyed boating, sport fishing, golfing and spending time with his friends. In 2004, Don and Connie moved to Palm Desert,

California, enjoying increased access to golf courses and their vacation home in Lake Havasu, CA.. Havasu was a special place for Don, where he spent many days playing cards with Connie, towing his children on waterskis, and humoring his grandchildren with long boat rides.

There will be no services at this time due to the Coronavirus.

Instead, the family asks that you perform an act of kindness in his memory and toast him the next time you are in good company. In this life, he did it his way.
