Marilyn Stoll Berardo Obituary
Marilyn Stoll Berardo
Nov. 22, 1943
April 5, 2018

Marilyn Stoll Berardo passed away peacefully at her home in Hermosa Beach with her husband John, sister Claudia, Goddaughter Jessica, and Jessica's mother, Wendy, at her side.

Marilyn was born in Los Angeles on Nov. 22, 1943. She graduated from Temple City High School and earned her bachelor's degree and teaching credential at Cal State Los Angeles. Marilyn was a beloved elementary school teacher for 40 years in the Manhattan Beach Unified School District.

Marilyn and John married in 1967 and traveled the world skiing and sightseeing. In 1993, Marilyn and John became godparents to precious Jessica Baskins who became their "pretend" child and made their life complete.

Also in 1993, the couple bought a vineyard in Paso Robles, which became Berardo Vineyards. Marilyn enjoyed decorating the farmhouse, entertaining guests at their bed and breakfast, and tending to the many rental suites and homes on the property while John made wine.

Marilyn was the life of the family and lit up any room she entered. Her zest and enthusiasm for life made everything more fun and interesting. Her greatest joys were being part of Jessica's milestones, traveling with John, and spending time with her family and friends, especially her dear sister Claudia.

Marilyn is survived by her husband John, Goddaughter Jessica Baskins, sister Claudia Bethke, brothers Stephen and Arthur (Ronette); brother-in-law Fred (Joanne), and sisters-in-law Joanne Guyer (Wayne) and Donna. She is also survived by many nieces and great nephews and nieces. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, Marjorie and Werner Stoll, her brother Robert, and sisters-in-law Rosalie Stoll (Robert) and Mary Stoll (Stephen).
