Born May 20, 1948 in Los Angeles to Del and Dorothy Adair, John passed away peacefully on September 13, 2013.

John was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the U.S. Navy. He and Phyllis Phillips were married in Covina on June 24, 1978. John was an accomplished golfer and a member of Manhattan Beach Golf Club.

He owned and operated Adair Plumbing for 20 years and was a homebuilder extraordinaire in the Beach Cities.

John was a wonderful man whose life was taken too soon. In his final days, John was surrounded by his closest friends and loved ones. The love and support that was exuded has been a true miracle. John has been a stronghold in the community of Manhattan Beach, residing in the same home since 1972. Many have known him as Mr. Fix It, the Mayor of the 24th Street Bench, and the source of all interesting information/gossip pertaining to the community. His wife, Phyllis Adair, his mother, Dorothy Ross, and his half-sister, Delene Annenberg, survive John.

In lieu of flowers Phyllis requests that donations for research be made in John's name to the American Cancer Society.
