James Malpede Obituary
Jim Malpede passed away on April 17th, 2018. He was seventy seven.

Jim loved the South Bay beaches and ocean. Born January 8th, 1941 in Los Angeles to Stephano and Fran, he moved to Manhattan Beach at a young age. A graduate of Mira Costa High and Woodbury University, Jim owned a business brokerage and was an expert witness in financial disputes.

Free diving, poker, running, and volleyball at Manhattan Pier were his favorite activities. His "gems of wisdom" were never forgotten by the recipients and his charity was as deep as the ocean in which he dove. He likened himself part of the animal kingdom and strived to interact with it and be 'one with nature'. His last big trip was a spectacular free dive among whale sharks in Cancun. He loved dressing up for Halloween with his grandkids and exposing them to ocean wildlife.

From his first marriage, he is survived by son Mitch and grandson Chase. From his marriage with Gay he is survived by daughters Jamie and her husband Dave Seeley; Mandy, her husband Zack Mason, and grandchildren Brody and Maddy. Gay, Jamie and Mandy were with him to the end. Gay cared for him during the tough period before he passed. Donations can be made to The Cousteau Society www.cousteau.org/english/
