Boots LeBaron Obituary

- Long time Manhattan Beach resident, Boots LeBaron, passed away peacefully last week surrounded by family at the age of 85.
He was a writer, artist, actor, husband, father, grandfather and dear friend. He was known for his creative PR efforts
representing everything from the Beatles to the Manhattan Beach Men's Club. He was also the creator of the
"Give a Hoot Don't Pollute" campaign from the 1970s. Many may remember his dynamic Human Interest stories that
ran in the local papers starting in the 1980s. He believed every person he met had a story to tell. Whether it was the
garbage man rolling his truck down the Manhattan Beach strand or the local ballet dancer that had once danced with
Baryshnikov. If Boots met them, you got to read their story. He loved to draw cartoons as well, so if you were lucky
enough to meet Boots at a back table of the Coffee Bean, you probably ended up with a comical self portrait.
He lived passionately and loved his family dearly. He leaves behind his wife of 58 years, JoAnne LeBaron, his children
Brandon, Brooke and Beau; his grandchildren, Jessica Rae, Max, Luke and Natalia Tru, and his son-in-law, Rocco Cortese.

RIP Boots LeBaron 1932-2017.
